SLOTTSPAVILJONGEN PAVILION ON ROYAL GROUND

Slottspaviljongen is a restaurant situated on ground owned by the Swedish Royal Family.

An outdoor seating area for this restaurant, overlooking the castle has been requested and I have been lucky enough to have been asked to work on this proposal as the architect under my own company.

The restaurant is situated on a hilly terrain and would need cut (excavation) and filling to establish a straight ground foundation. The excavation mass will be used to fill out the lower parts of the terrain. I have hidden the concrete retaining wall by the natural slope of the terrain. We currently have a sloped planting area which I have increased in size to accommodate the new slope of the ground. Since this is a marked building, I have decided to keep everything as natural as possible and blended with the current surrounding. I have used gravel as flooring and the existing balcony railings to be reused. The existing plants will be reused as well with new same ones planted next to each other.

This project has been confirmed by the municipality and the royal AA associations and is now pending start for construction.
